FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
The cover is gorgeous, and the story is just as remarkable. It only confirms my opinion that Douglas Kennedy is severely underrated as an author. The Alma Katsu novel was definitely not what I expected. I did enjoy it, but I found the whole thing tremendously sad. I am still not certain if that is what she wants readers to feel. This is the first book in a series, and I am not certain whether I will continue it as of right now.
