What Are You Reading?

Hosted by Sheila from Book Journey, this is a weekly event to share what we’ve read in the past week and what we hope to read, plus whatever else comes to mind.

Finished Last Week:

All I Love and Know by Judith Frank
Life Drawing by Robin Black
Illusive by Emily Lloyd-Jones

Did Not Finish:

The Butterfly and the Violin by Kristy Cambron

This one truly upsets me, for the premise is spectacular. For that reason, I wish I had known it was Christian Fiction before I ever looked at the synopsis. I will read almost any genre of book. Unfortunately, I’ve been burned badly in the past by Christian Fiction, and therefore it is the one genre I tend to avoid. Everything about it makes me twitchy. I know I should not let past negative experiences impact me in this fashion, but it does. Therefore, I cannot in good conscience finish this book because I know my biases will negatively impact my reading experience, and that is just not fair to Ms. Cambron.

Currently Reading:

Prototype by M. D. Waters

Currently Listening:

Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King

Up Next:

The Butcher by Jennifer Hillier

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

The Good Girl by Mary Kubica
