The Red Sox have finalized their rotation, and the last two spots will go to Felix Doubront and Daniel Bard.
The rotation's order is officially: Jon Lester, Josh Beckett, Clay Buchholz, Doubront and Bard. Doubront and Bard will make their rotation debuts when the Red Sox reach Toronto in the second series of the season.
Alfredo Aceves will pitch out of the bullpen, where he really belongs. He was an incredible find giving the Sox effective innings even when the rest of the staff went south last September.
It was revealed that Andrew Bailey has a thumb injury and did not pitch in yesterday's Grapefruit League game because of it. He has not pitched since March 25th, and may start the season on the DL. Mark Melancon would close in his absence, and Aceves would be the setup man. Bailey could be put on retroactively, and could be activated on April 10th, missing only four games.
