It’s All In The Details

The Reason To Dress

I’ve written about Modena’s Philosophy Festival (FestivalFilosofia) before here, but just incase you did’t read that post it is  basically a whole festival dedicated to  philosophy.  On this particular occasion I wanted to be comfortable enough to ride around on my bike and  hit as many philosophical events as possible.

I know it’s almost December, and you’re thinking “what is she doing showing an outfit post wearing a fedora hat and shorts…hello WINTER TIME!”

I was inspired by yesterday’s Real Mom Street Style picture featuring Reminiscene rings and my very first GIVEAWAY!!!

Plus, I realized that in some parts of the world it’s not as cold as it is in Modena (and definitely not as cold as it is in Canada) and people are still wearing short (ps. I hate you

:)
). Just look at Sherry from The Life of the Party, she lives in Hawaii and is still rockin’ shorts in December…. craziness.

What I Wore

It just so happens that in August I acquired my first  Reminiscence Paris bracelet.  This bracelet quickly became my absolute favorite accessory.  I love the way it jingles when I walk and I felt so chic pushing my stroller while wearing it.  It is amazing what a big difference a small detail can make about how you feel.

Sometimes, I find that when I wear a necklace I feel too formal and dressed up.  My earring holes closed when I was pregnant, so no earrings for this lady.  Wearing a bracelet is the perfect accessory to make my outfits just a little more interesting.

My shorts are 7 for all mankind long jeans found here.  I bought this model a few years ago and just got tired of them, so I cut them off myself.  I know these jeans are super expensive (I bought them in my pre-mamma days) but I really needed a pair of good, comfortable cut-off shorts that weren’t too short.  So I did it myself!

I like to call this hat a “Pedora” 1/2 fedora 1/2 panama!  It is a Piazza Sempione, and is excellent quality.  I have featured this hat in another outfit post here.

My little guy is wearing a super cool helmet that I LOVE because it has adjustable sizing, a sun visor, is perfect for kids under two years old and is breathable and light ….oh and did I mention CUTE.  I did a whole “Things I Love” post about it here.

Anyone else still in shorts?

Thanks for stopping by and DON’T FORGET TO ENTER THE REMINISCENCE BRACELET GIVEAWAY!
