Over the last few years, I have been asked to photograph a few weddings in Scotland. Its an amazingly welcoming country. Lauren and Mike live in Chicago and came to Darven Cottage on the Isle of Arran a few years ago. They fell in love with it and decided it would be the only place they wanted to get married! With a small selection of their family all flying in for the ceremony, this was one of the most intimate weddings I have photographed. At 5pm, we had the ceremony on the beach with the most dramatic landscape around us. It was very emotional. Outside weddings are very rare but really add something to the ceremony.
David and everyone at Darven looked after everyone so well. I have never seen so much food per person at a wedding! During dinner there was an amazing double rainbow so we all went out in the rain for a unique image. Mike had prepared a slideshow of lots of images from throughout their relationship which he played at the end of dinner. It was great to see the atmosphere in the evening with such a small number. They could be forgiven for not dancing too much. Instead, everyone was up on their feet for hours! The night ended with the remaining guests watching the Chicago Blackhawks win their Ice Hockey match! Mike and Lauren are now off for more travels to Paris and Bali. Have a fantastic time guys! Thank you Lauren for climbing across the rocks for those images. I hope they were worth it!
Here are just a few images from their day. Please feel free to share or leave a comment for Mike and Lauren or about the wedding images.
