TikTok is the platform to discover new products these days. But based on my experience, not all viral products are worth the hype. Most Tikktokers are exaggerated in their reviews. Recently, I’ve been seeing this foundation A LOT from beauty influencers. Although their exaggerated reaction turned me off, the skin-like and glowy finish got me interested. Are you curious if is it worth the hype? Read my honest Maybelline SuperStay Lumi Matte Foundation review.
What is it?
Maybelline SuperStay Lumi Matte Foundation is a liquid foundation that offers a unique combination of a matte finish with a subtle, luminous glow. It is designed to provide long-lasting wear, lightweight coverage, and a comfortable feel throughout the day.
Claims:

- Buildable Coverage
- Matte with a Glow
- Suitable for All Skin Types
PERFORMANCE
APPLICATION: A few drops of the foundation should be dotted over the face and neck, then blended with fingertips, a brush, or a beauty blender for an even finish. Most users prefer to apply this using a brush, but I like using my fingertips when I am in a hurry.
SCENT: Unscented
PACKAGING: The foundation comes in a sleek, chic glass bottle with a pump dispenser, making it easy to use and travel-friendly. The packaging has a modern design with a pastel lavender cap, a color that is appealing to younger consumers. Though the cap tends to get stained easily making it look messy.
TEXTURE & FORMULA: This foundation is a cream but has a matte lightweight texture, much lighter than their Fit Me Fresh Tint with Vit C which is a skin tint.
MY EXPERIENCE
The Maybelline SuperStay Lumi Matte Foundation is one of the most lightweight foundations I ever used. It is comfortable to wear for extended periods without feeling heavy or cakey on the skin. The foundation has a medium to full buildable coverage, allowing users to customize their look from natural to more polished.
It has a matte finish but with a luminous aspect which I haven’t experienced in other foundations yet. It gives a natural, radiant-looking skin without appearing shiny or oily. It’s amazing. It is also long-lasting, but not 30 hours long. On my oily skin, it lasts around 6-8 hours depending on the weather.
However, I disagree with the claim that it’s suitable for all skin types because it clings to the dry patches of my skin, on the corners of my nose and laugh lines. Even when I properly prepped my skin, around 3-4 hours, I saw some foundation build-up.
Another thing I do not like about this foundation is the shade range. There are only 10 different shades available and it oxidizes BIG TIME. That is why a lot of people end up buying the wrong shade. I pick one to two shades lighter than my actual shade which is often what I do with other foundations that oxidize, but it’s still too orange for me. So I opted for Shade 123 which is three times lighter but the undertone doesn’t match me. It’s too yellow and warm.
MY SKIN PROFILE:
Morena. Oily with dry patches. Acne-prone and sensitive.
VERDICTMY THOUGHTSOverall, the Maybelline SuperStay Lumi Matte Foundation is good. It provides a long-lasting, comfortable wear with a natural-looking matte finish that still maintains a healthy glow. But the shade range and oxidation is terrible. I ended up giving my bottle to my mom who has a paler skin tone than mine.PROSLightweightMatte with glowy finishLong-lastingAffordableCONSLimited shade rangeOxidizes A LOT3.5PRODUCT RATINGWhere to buy?SHOPEE ₱699LAZADA ₱699""""""""
