After a report from the Korea Times, stating that Samsung is going to shut down its’ desktop computer business to focus on making more tablets and laptops, a lot of other blogs and news websites followed this source to report the shocking news. However, all those reports came to an end as Samsung has already denied these reports to be “groundless”.
“The rumor that Samsung is withdrawing from the PC desktop business is groundless. Samsung will continue to offer diverse PC products according to consumer and market needs.” Samsung officially explained in a statement to The Next Web.
Even though Samsung doesn’t have a big market for desktop computers, it is the sole manufacturer for Chromeboxes. And, Samsung will continue to make more of those since Google still backs the Chrome project. Although, desktops will eventually comes to an end since the PC market share is rapidly getting beaten down by AIOs, laptops and tablets.
