Fujifilm has officially announced its new camera: Fujifilm GFX 100. This is a new camera in the GFX series, and it is a medium format camera. This is a model with major leaps over its predecessor. The camera has a much higher resolution, in-body image stabilization, and much faster performance. The camera will be officially released on 27th June with a price tag of 7,00,000 Rs.
Basic Feature of Fujifilm GFX 100:
This model is very different from other Fujifilm medium range camera, GFX features a full-size design. This means the camera has an integrated vertical grip and more stance than a normal mirrorless camera. However, the size of the camera is much like Canon’s EOS-1D X. The camera has a 102-megapixel sensor and has a five-axis in-body image stabilization system. This frame setup provides up to 5.5 stops of shake correction.
Fujifilm specifically incorporated Fujifilm X-Processor 4 with ISO support of ISO 100 to 12800. Hence, GFX 100 is capable of producing 16-bit RAW image files with UHD color, accuracy, and dynamic range.
What makes the GFX 100 a better medium format Camera?
Fujifilm GFX 100 is the first medium format camera which has a phase detection autofocus. This improves autofocus performance significantly. According to Fujifilm, GFX 100 performance is 210% better than GFX 50S and 50R. Not only that the camera support 4K 30fps video recording. This utilizes the entire width of the sensor. The camera works very fine in low light and on continuously moving objects.
With its swivel adapter, the EVF can be shifted into various positions, this makes holding the camera easy for longer period of time. The 3-way tilt of the LCD is perfect if you want to keep your camera low on the ground or above your head.
The camera also includes a new 5.76-million dot OLED electronic viewfinder. It also supports two batteries with up to 800 shots of battery life, which is decent. You can operate it via a two-way tilting touchscreen

If you look at the various review of the camera, all of them say exactly the same thing. Fujifilm GFX 100 is unlikely any medium format camera. Its performance is above the charts compared to its rivals. The camera has features used by professionals and won’t disappoint any medium range users. However, the camera is a bit heavy and very costly. This is the only reason why it won’t sell much and holding Fujifilm from ruling the market. If the price isn’t an issue for you, then you should buy it straight away.
