Introducing Battling Bucs

By Kipper @pghsportsforum
I'm new here but I'm definitely not new to Pirates fandom. I've been writing a Pirates blog for a year and half now and it recently started to garner some traffic but is still basically hiding in a dark corner. I thought I would take a chance, assuming this is ok with the moderators to introduce some of the things I write about on my blog.
Currently I have two series running:
One is my 2013 Expectations Series. Essentially I discuss what I expect from the Pirates this upcoming season. This includes everyone from players, to minor leaguers, to coaches to the front office. Last season it was a 15 part series this year it will be more. For the players I'm giving my stat projections. I linked to the first in the series, the catcher, but part 6 left and center fielders will publish today.
The other is Projecting the Minor League Rosters. Not really much to that, just me taking a stab on who I think will be on each of the Pirates four full season affiliates. The link goes to the AAA roster but the AA roster is scheduled for today.
I also maintain top prospects lists both for hitters and pitchers. There is no analysis there but I do provide some in other articles such as my 18 Part Prospect Recaps
I also try to do a little bit of analysis as seen in this piece about how the Pirates bottom of the roster compared to the bottom of the the other NL Central teams in 2012. I will also occasionally throw up what I like to call a feature article. The one I linked to has a discussion on the stregnths and weaknesses of the 5 players competiting for the infield bench spots.
Basically I really do not report too much news although I will occasional throw up a catch all article but specialize in just writing my opinions, no matter how strange they may be. Oh one other thing I occasionally do is attend Altoona Curve games and while I don't always write a recap of it I do so about 2 or 3 times a year and usually try to make it somewhat detailed. I'll be at the March 30th Curve-Pirates game and I'm looking forward to writing a recap about that one.
There you have it a quick summary of what I do at Battling Bucs. For what it is worth February is already the 2nd best month in site history, in terms of traffic, and should be #1 by the end of the month.
