Just around two weeks ago Scandinavian duo, Wouie, discreetly made their presence known by posting two tracks to Soundcloud. The pair of songs are night and day, but both are composed of 80s-influenced synth-pop and the type of melodies that clear your head. “Sydow” is a giddy jolt that sings of being so alive that it feels like a dream, the reverb moving in clean, bright waves. Flip the switch to “A Fire Inside” you’ll find yourself on the streets of Stockholm listening to stories about neon lights and a girl who’s “got the bluest eyes, like the deepest ocean. And I’ve got a fire inside, and that’s a dangerous combination.” And a dangerous combination is exactly what Wouie has given us with these two tracks.
