A couple of weeks ago Becky asked me to do an interview for her to put on her blog, of course I said yes because I thought it would it be really fun, I've copied it over here for you all to read but please also go and check Becky's blog out as it's really cool and I love reading it!
1) What first brought you into blogging?
I first found the world of the 'beauty/fashion online community' whilst watching videos on youtube where I noticed that many of the people I was watching also ran blogs on the side. I followed these blogs for a number of months before thinking to myself that it would be something that I would love to do, since I didn't really have enough confidence to sit down and make videos. One day when I was bored, I logged onto blogger, created myself an account and it just grew from there.
2) Do you have any tips for anyone wanting to start their own blog?
Just go for it! Honestly, there is not much more to it than that! I ummed and ahhed about making a blog for such a long time before making my blog and now I honestly wish that I had just gone for it and started it earlier. One of the most daunting things when starting is that bloggers can seem to have everything, and the perfect lives when you look at their sites. It's easy to forget that they are just normal people who write well and take nice photos, and that you're only looking at the best bits of their lives. The community of people that you are entered into are actually so lovely and helpful and I can guarantee you will definitely make friends (like Becky) very quickly. One way to immerse yourself into this quickly and easily is to join the #bblogger chats on a sunday evening on twitter where you can interact with other people.
3) What are your current top 5 products?
Just 5? Mascara - So Susan Fairy Lashes, Eyeshadow - Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (slightly cheating), Lips - Revlon lipstick in blushing Mauve, L'oreal Rouge Caresse in Impulsive Fuschia, Rimmel Apocalips in Apocaliptic and Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte shine in Corail Intuitive. (definitely went over 5 there, sorry!)
4) What posts can we look forward to seeing on UNSTITCHEDD?
I'm currently really loving doing slightly more lifestyle-y posts, so you can definitely expect to see some DIY's, photography, room posts and more things like that!
5) What is your favorite makeup brand?
At the moment, I'd have to say Rimmel, they are coming up with some really great products like the Apocalips! Also Yves Saint Laurent never fail to disappoint, their packaging is just so pretty!
6) What is your favorite fashion craze so far in the past years?
I can't really think of an absolute favorite at the moment, although I love the all white outfits that seem to be everywhere, not so practical though!
7) What do you enjoy doing in your free time aside from blogging?
I'm quite a creative person so you will often find me painting, drawing, doing photography, sewing, making jewelry etc! And shopping, of course!
8) Do you have any pet peeves?
If your talking about makeup I think the worst thing is the face/neck difference that some people seem to achieve, it looks so bad and very fake, I don't know how some people can get it so wrong!
9) One thing you would never leave home without?
My phone!
