1.What is the title of your blog and its link?
My blog is called mode and prerogative and you can find it at http://modeandprerogative.blogspot.com.au/
2. What is your blog about?
My blog is really a mix of everything from outfit posts to small editorial pieces such as finding the right watch for you. Most of the content posted on my blog are really things that inspire me at that moment.
3. Why and when did you start blogging?
I started blogging late November in 2012. That was a time where I had just finihed high school and its final exams. I had four months until I started university so I thought it would be fun to start up a blog to pass the time. I also exist in an environment where I am not challenged creatively and starting mode & prerogative was the perfect creative outlet for me.
4. Tell us a bit about yourself
To be quite frank, I am not a very interesting person. I recently graduated hgh school and I am about to start studying a communications degree. I definitely loved playing sport when I was younger, especially softball. I wold have to say my favorite subjects in high school were PDHPE (health) and my English extension course.
5. What is your fashion style?
My style is quite classic. I like classic silhouettes since they never go out of style. However, I do mix it up once in a while just to keep things interesting. Lately I have been leaning more towards a minimalist look. It is clean, simple and chic.
6. Who is your favorite fashion designer?
This is definitely a tough question, I can't pick one! I am going to choose three and pick Christopher Bailey (I definitely have t stay loyal to the Burberry brand), Elie Saab (their dresses are amazing) and Alexander Wang.
7. Are you a full time blogger, if not what else do you do?
At the moment, no. I am going to be starting a new semester soon and studying is definitely my number one focus at the moment.
8. Which bloggers do you look up to?
I would have to say Emily Schuman from 'Cupcakes and Cashmere'. She is somehing I identify with in terms of style. I also admire her style is sophisticated and trendy, yet attainable. What I have found that some outfits posted on fashion blogs have become so inaccessible and impractical that I find it extremely difficult to relate to. I also admire the success that she has achieved by doing what she is truly passionate about and still remain down-to-earth and humble about her successes.
9. Who are your favorite bloggers?
My favourites are rotating on a monthly basis. At the moment, my favouriteblog are 'Cupcakes and Cashmere', 'Dead Fleurette' and 'Petite Hues'
10. What do you like most about blogging?
I enjoy blogging for the creative aspect of it. I enjoy creating and writing the posts and designing the layout of my blog. I find it rather relaxing. I also enjoy finding blogs of like-minded people. I am pretty sure my friends hate the fact that I talk about fashion a bit too much so it is great to connect with people with similar interests.
11. What do you like the least about blogging?
Although I enjoy blogging overall, sometimes it ca be difficult to come up with extremely original content which I haven't seen on blogs yet. The blogosphere is a big place and there is bound to be one person who has already written about upcoming trends and the like. It is because of this I fall victim to the dreaded writer's block.
12. How do come up with ideas of posts to write?
The posts that I write are posts which I like to read such as outfit posts, style breakdowns etc. I also write about things which are inspiring to myself such as a well-thought out workspace.
13. What kind of posts do you post most frequently?
My most frequent posts are outfit posts. I like to showcase my style although I may not look like I have stepped out of a street style blog. They are also a lot of fun to put together.
14.. What is your favorite post you have wrote?
My favorite post would definitely have to be my holiay gift guides. They are so fun to put together and I have found some great products which I hope to buy for myself soon.
15. Do you have any blogging tips?
I think having a great layout is key. We are visual beings so by creating a layout which is visually pleasing can really affect one's first impression. Also, having original and compelling content is crucial in building and loyal following. Just by having the perfect layout can only do so much if you don't have the content.
16. What do you hope to achieve this year?
This year, I hope to expand in the type of medium featured on my blog whether it is using GIFs or video. I think it could create a different reading experience on my blog and also expand the audience. Also, it can help me in my interest in media production. I also want to expand the content on my blog. It could help me explore other aspects of fashion which I haven't explore yet.
