International Women’s Day Featuring Woman Leaders Across The Globe

By Alyssa Martinez @ItsMariaAlyssa

Warm greetings to you all!

I hope you're all doing well. I welcome you to a very special day. If you are pondering why this day is so special, let me tell you that we would be meeting a business woman who has made a significant difference in the present world today. It's a part of our women's day feature, and I hope we learn and explore more about her, her life and her ambitions.

I would like to welcome Sayo Omura, the director of Office Small leaf co.

It is an utter joy having you here with us today. Please tell us about your activity?

"Well, the primary motive behind my initiative was to help those in need. To be there for people who are spending their lives in misery while not even uttering a word of disappointment is what I've always wanted. In the near future, I would be widening my horizons and reaching out to more people, more communities. This would help me create an ideal future for people who are currently suffering by assisting them to overcome their obstacles."

Wow, that's so impressive. Could you tell us why you started this activity?

"Yeah, sure!

So, basically when I was in elementary school, my life was pretty smooth. I didn't have any major psychological problems, and I lived an apparently normal life. However, my parents were busy running their own businesses. And since I was the middle child, there were times I felt ignored and a little bit less appreciated. I always wanted more care, more love, and affection, but that somehow lacked in my life. Hence, with passing years, I started having psychological issues, especially during my adolescent years.

When I was in the first year of junior high school, I suffered from irritable bowel syndrome. This illness kind of over-stimulated my intestines and made me suffer from severe diarrhea. Consequently, my diet got badly affected. I started consuming lesser foods as, obviously, I feared getting diarrhea, especially during my school hours.

Due to the lack of nutrition, I felt severely weak, physically, emotionally and mentally. My energy levels were so drained that I actually started perceiving my death. I thought I won' be able to survive anymore. However, at that point, I also reckoned the need for a counsellor. How much I needed someone to listen to my feelings and not judge me in any way. This was the point that hit me, and I began thinking about being a counsellor.

I went to college to major in psychology, which I had hoped to do. Honestly, the university was easier than high school for me as I was able to use the washroom freely and hence, it was more comfortable for me. However, I still had the bowel syndrome, and my weakness kept escalating. I felt my heart was getting weaker, and I ended up opting out of being a counsellor as I believed I didn't have the strength to do that.

Alongside education, I became a member of the welfare society and started helping people the best way I could. However, the work did not last, and I kept changing jobs. I encountered severe bullies, mental abuse and harassment. Consequently, I took a leave of absence. There was a staff trip at my place of employment, but I was so anxious about riding the bus that my health deteriorated the day before, and I had to take a day off. Things were not just working out.

When I was on a leave of absence from my job and was worried about what to do next, I consulted some one close to me. He suggested that i take a practical psychology course, and I somehow got convinced. I received numerous therapies, and they changed me for good, slowly and eventually. I reckoned that I could change for my own betterment, and hence, my life literally underwent a massive transformation. From a weak soul, I transformed into a stronger one. I then became a certified counsellor and eventually headed towards the most advanced course to deepen my knowledge.

After getting enrolled in the psychology course, I once attended a musical that one of the student who participated in the course with me was a part of. Luckily, I attended the musical again, however, not as an audience but as a participant. Around 2000 faces watched my play, and I received deep appreciation from the crowd.

After that, I found the love of my life, got married to him and had a baby. I became the counsellor I have always wanted to, and I kept on achieving my goals, one after another. The struggle remained consistent but surely worth it.

Remember, the struggle is the key to success. Don't give up, and you would certainly achieve all that you have wished for."

That's so inspiring to hear. What advice would you give to customers and people who want to be a part of your project?

"I would like them to never give up on their dreams. I strongly feel that your dreams will come true if you don't give up. Surely, as I said earlier, consistency is the key. Keep striving, and you will win in the end."

What are your goals for the future?

"I just want to help people through my counseling. Make their lives a little less painful and a lot more joyful. That's all I want."

Surely, you are an inspiration to thousands. I hope you achieve everything you have dreamt for.

Thank you so glad to be here.
