PITTSBURGH -- Mike Tomlin likes to say he gives new players "a helmet and an opportunity," a way to emphasize that their past is just that.
He's applying that philosophy to newly acquired Justin Gilbert, a former top-10 pick whom the Cleveland Browns so desperately wanted to unload that they traded him to a divisional rival.
