Interested in Firefox OS? Now You Can Pre-Order ‘Flame’ Developer Phone for $170

Flame features 4.5-display, 1.2GHZ CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 5MP rear camera, GPS, NFC, and Dual SIM support. According to Mozilla, this phone represents mid-tier phone hardware that the company planning to take on for next year. Flame also has a software configurable RAM option that allows developers to emulate different devices. You can pre-order the device here.

Mozilla launched Firefox OS in 2013 to target low-budget and developing smartphone markets, hoping to bring affordable smartphones to billions of people in developing countries around the world and help them enter the new smart world. Ever since the initial launch, Firefox OS came a long way and even the smartphone makers like ZTE and Geeksphone made several Firefox OS phones to bring this new mobile OS to consumers.

So far, the development of the Firefox OS has been very slow and it’s still not mature enough to be considered as a competitive smartphone operating system. With a little help from HTML 5 developers, Mozilla will be able to bring Firefox OS to rest of the world who are yet to discover the possibilities of smartphone technology.
