Intel Demos Creepy Gesture-Controlled Robotic Spiders

To show off the power of its Curie module, a computer the size of a button, that also enables motion-based control over robots, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich took the stage with a swarm of robotic spiders which he controlled with nothing but hand gestures.

The demonstration of the robot spiders was made possible by Intel Curie powered wristband that Krzanich was wearing. By making some simple gestures with his hand, Krzanich was able to make the robot spiders dance like puppets and even change their LED light colors.

As cool as it looks, it was actually a little bit terrifying to watch. I can already imagine some mad scientist using this technology to take over the universe with an army of robots. Check out the video to see it in action.
