If you haven’t heard of Inspired & The Sleep yet, well then you’re welcome, because now you have! This great new group out of San Diego mixes lo-fi recording with a psych-pop backbone to produce very amiable groove-based tracks. The band spawned from the solo project of front man Max Greenhalgh into a four piece psych indie outfit that even includes a tenor sax (Get excited Menomena fans!). The group’s name developed through reveries about insomnia and its counterpart, sleep — a theme that the new song, “Fly Low”, definitely expresses well. The track’s hypnotically distorted guitar contrasts with the plodding keyboard, creating a contrariety that’s brought together only by the airy vocals of Greenhalgh. You can download the song through the link above, and be sure to catch the bands currently untitled EP when it comes out July 2014.
