Title: Calligraphy in Cursive Script
Date: 1922
Artist: Shen Zengzhi (1850-1922)
Type of art: drawing, ink in paper
Note: This is a poem. Translation:
I think of flower petals falling into the clear water of the river, Lingering there in the east as if there was all the time in the world. The river becomes excited. At nightfall the ducks return. There's a ferryman's boat in the vast landscape, As the sun descends behind autumn hills. Far away, in the dusk, boats are sailing. I return home, relaxed and content.
