India Pale Ale – Hearthstone Brewery

By Mike @mikescraftbeer

From Hearthstone Brewery in North Vancouver comes their "India Pale Ale". With a shortage of one of the two hops in this beer (Amarillo and El Dorado) they improvised and added Mosaic and now they plan to add more Mosaic. The beer pours a golden colour with a white head. The aroma consists of tropical fruits, citrus, melon and floral hops. The flavour is of citrus rind, tropical fruits, melon, grapefruit, earth, resin, pine, bready malts and bitterness. The alcohol content comes in at 6.5% with an IBU of 95. This was already a good beer but I really like what they have done with the slight hop change.

Commercial Description: Hello my friend! If you do not like hops, you might as well put this can down - it is not for you. If you DO like hops, then strap on your moon boots comrade, because you are in for a ride! Amarillo and El Dorado hops steal the show, result in in stone fruit, grapefruit and all around tropical hoppy goodness. Drink Fresh with Good People.
