Here is how to make a rakhi from easily available materials.
#1. Rakhi from wedding cards
You can use the wedding card to make a base of your rakhi.
You could stick a favorite cartoon character or an object like a car or a plane sticker. (easily available in markets to this base to make your rakhi)
Also the ribbons that are used these days to tie the cards can be re used to be your rakhi threads
#2. Puffy stickers
There are lots of puffy stickers available at stationery stores. I purchased a couple of them.
Pasting this on a satin ribbon can act as a cute little rakhi, which will be an easy task for your little one to do.
All they need to do is select their favorite and stick it on to the ribbon. My little one chose the flowers are here favorite 'twinkle twinkle little star.'
You even get a lot of cartoon characters like a doraemon or a chhota bheem in these puffy stickers.
#3. Old hair clips
If you have some old hairclips that are not being used, you could use them to make rakhis.
This would need some adult supervision since you will need to pull out them from the clips and use a good adhesive to stick them onto the rakhi bands.

#4. Your daughter's old hairband
There are a lot of hairbands that fall in my daughter's not so favorite category. I decided to use the small flowers on them to make this rakhi.
