On those afternoons where times seems to be stagnant, the weather pleasant but not hugely agreeable or disagreeable, and your plans for the rest of the day are zero, the best thing to do is jump into the car and head for Porty beach. Porty is our number one place to frequent for a good dose of Scottish air. It blows away any cobwebs in about 2 seconds and leaves you feeling rejuvenated. It also always makes me feel like I have done something constructive and beneficial with my time which is always a positive. The biggest selling point? It’s only 15 minutes door – to – door (or door – to – sand) and there is always something to enjoy. I love the fact that Edinburgh has a beach so close by, amazing for city living. Once we acclimatised ourselves to the Portobello temperatures we set off for a walk, which involved some clambering in and out of these wooden things.
