The L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadows are reputed to be the drugstore dupe of (perhaps even the same product as) the Giorgio Armani Eye Shadows. I can't comment on this since I refuse to spend $33 on an eye shadow single, but I can tell you that I am extremely impressed with the L'Oreal line.
This is supposedly a cream to shadow formula but feels more like a pressed wet pigment. True enough, it comes with a little stopper to pack the pigment in. The texture is very silky and glides on like a dream. It's delightfully pigmented. The packaging feels a little flimsy, being made of plastic, but that certainly makes it great for travel. I hate carefully packing my bags only to find that they're over the weight limit!
This is the shade Iced Latte, a very pretty shimmery champagne that is perfect as a highlight or as an overall wash. It's terribly frosty on first swatch but on the lids it looks natural and brightens them up gorgeously. I know I'm going to get a loooot of use out of this one. These swatches were applied with a finger and taken without a primer or base. There is a slightly cool gold sheen to it that I imagine would suit almost any skin tone. If applied properly, this can even be used as a face highlighter.
I wanted a little depth so I shaded in a dark purple on the outer corner (Wrapped Up from the Sleek i-Divine Oh So Special Palette). When I'm rushing and can't be bothered with the detailing of eye liner and mascara this is all I do; apply two colors with my index and pinky fingers and off I go.
With blush and lip color. I look more Asian than usual, y?
Every time I'm in a Target or CVS I have to fight the urge to buy yet another shade; these things are kind of addicting to accumulate, as you can see from my growing stash below. I won't be reviewing all these shades as I purchased some as gifts, plus I just ordered the Lorac PRO Palette and I really don't need so many eye shadows so I'll be giving even more away.
Edit: With primer, this is truly long-wearing. I applied it over Etude House's Proof 10 Eye Primer for my 12-hour train ride to Carmel, and at the end of it there was super minor fading and no creasing! Without primer and in 32-degree heat, it fades and creases within an hour or two.
I don't think these are available in the Philippines yet, but I'm sure some online sellers will have them on pre-order. Although with the death of Multiply on May 6 makeup acquisition will understandably get more difficult. The L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadows retail for US$ 6.99 to US$ 8.29 at most drugstores. I got mine from CVS and Target (Target is cheaper).
