Just outside of Chesterton lies a shopping hub: Schoolhouse Shop and Antiques in Furnessville, Indiana.
This 1886 built schoolhouse turned series of shops displays the type of resourcefulness that keeps abandoned buildings from becoming demolished buildings and turns them into beautiful usable spaces! Other towns and entrepreneurs should take note.
More than just an antique shop, this building features multiple levels with a variety of shops. Florals, clothing, jewelry, toys, home decor, and even kitchen items are neatly organized and arranged. Each shop is absolutely amazing! Again, no trip to this side of Porter County is complete without a visit to Schoolhouse Shop and Antiques!
