Liquid Metal Art of Darkness Palette - £10, reduced from £34
I've been coveting some Illamasqua goodies for a while now, so when they announced their recent sale, I took advantage of the opportunity so I could finally get my mitts on some!
One of my purchases was the Liquid Metal Art of Darkness palette. I am a sucker for metallics and earthy tones, so this looked like a perfect set of colours for me. Each color is also available on its own, but I thought I'd get myself a little collection. I also purchased the Liquid Ink Precision Eyeliner in Havoc, which may get an appearance on here very soon!
One of the main things that strikes me about the colours is the formula. It is of a creamy consistency and is very light, which enables you to apply the coverage you desire - it reminds me of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo cream shadows that ruled the blogosphere last year (and rightly so).
Stoic is a lovely green-blue that reminds me of the sea. Solstice is an intense gold. Resolute is an earthy red with blue undertones, whereas Superior is indeed a rather intense royal blue. I think it's a brilliant combination of colours that all POP in their own ways.
The main negative to the product is the fact that the color fades fairly quickly, which means it is best to be used as a base to intensify the color of other metallic eyeshadows. However, I do keep reaching for this palette when I am getting ready for night out, so the pros definitely outweigh the cons!
I'm not sure if I'd willingly pay the RRP of £34, but I am glad that I finally have some Illamasqua products on my dresser.
