If You Feel So Inclined

By Lindsayleighbentley @lindsayLbentley

I’ve had a few readers tell me that I should charge for my information here, especially one-on-one phone/email consults.

There are a few reasons why I don’t.

1. I can’t.  I’m not a qualified professional in any way.  I didn’t even go to college (well, one semester in community college hardly counts…)  I just happen to love this stuff and research it incessantly.  I don’t know anything that the average person can’t find out on their own, so I just pass on the information that I learn to you: the folks that don’t have the time/desire to do so!

2. I don’t want to.  I started this blog because I want to help people.  I found myself passing on the same information to friends and family a lot, so I thought that a blog would be the easiest way for them to have access to my thoughts.  Plus, if people start paying for this info, I won’t feel free to write whatevertheheck I want to, and that’s part of the fun of a blog.

I also don’t want to put a “donation” button.  I don’t know why really, I actually made one and then couldn’t get comfortable putting it up.  Probably because of the aforementioned reasons.

Anyhow, if you do feel that you want to give back as a way of saying “thank you” for the content found here, you can:

When you go to order anything from Amazon, just click my Amazon link on my blog first, then start shopping as normal. (Hello, Christmas gifts!)  You can still use your Prime account and nothing changes for you.

I receive a small commission (4-8%) for any sales generated from my site.  It doesn’t even have to be health products.  You could order a lifetime supply of soda (please don’t!) and I would see a bit of a commission from it.

I also receive commissions from other companies, like my water filter supplier, Mt. Rose Herbs, Bison Balm, etc.

So, that’s it.  I want to be fully transparent with how a blog like this works, as well as respond to the readers who have asked how they can compensate me for the free content found here!

live well. be well.
