If This Really is the End...

By Kipper @pghsportsforum
Then I'd like to thank all the admins and posters that have come and gone here on the PSF over the years. I first started out on here in 2011 at age 11; back then it was still called the Pittsburgh Sports Tavern. After having dozens of hour long phone calls over the years about our Steelers, my uncle SteelReign invited me on to the boards. It took me a while to learn the ropes that come with online message boards, but once I reached that point I had a tremendous time talking with you guys on the game day threads and the offseason discussions.
I was a very young kid at the time (still am) and I'd like to think that the PSF helped with my writing abilities throughout my time here. I loved that this gave me an opportunity to write about what was on my mind and even gave me a platform to blog about everything Pittsburgh Sports. I've seen the PSF go from 100+ active members to about a dozen or so. What didn't change throughout that time was the family atmosphere that was here. It didn't feel like other forums where everyone is competing against each other to become the big man on the boards. Everyone was always respectful and always had open ears to both sides of the convo.
Some people I want to thank personally:
My uncle, Steelreign, and Kipper who, along with Palmetto Steel, helped launch this site and made it what it is today.
Indiana Pittsburgh Fan, who is probably the closet person I have on here to my age and who I became friends with during my time here. My favorite memory was of him slowly converting from a Nittany to a Panther over time If this really is the end...
And Kinsar, who I haven't gotten to know well until recently, but the time and effort he's put into keeping this thing alive is special.
I wish this place was still buzzing with activity the way it used to be, but I still enjoy coming on here and discussing Pittsburgh Sports. Hopefully this place can stay around a little while longer and we can help build it back up. Like was said in another thread, if there's anyone lurking on here, sign on and join the conversation with us. It's a great group and we'd love to have you. I will always cherish the time I spent on here. If this thing does go down, hopefully we can stay in touch and keep on talking about our Black and Gold
Good post man. Keep it quiet with the nittany stuff lol. 😂. Were still figuring out what direction we are headed with the site.
