I announced it briefly a couple of weeks ago, but I thought I'd make a more formal announcement here about a new series Meta Coleman from One More Mushroom and I are doing on Instagram that will change your life.Have I caught your attention?
I met Meta a couple of months ago when we styled a project together and found that we have very similar aesthetics (though her style is WAY more Scandinavian than mine). One day she texted me a picture of a beautiful room and said, "If I were a room, I'd be this". Has anyone ever asked you that? It's seriously mind-blowing to aesthetic-minded folk like me. I was ALL about it. I responded with this beautiful top image. From there it turned into an Instagram-only game where every week we have a theme (this week it's "If I were a kitchen") and you post a picture responding to the statement. You guys, it's seriously so fun. And if I'm using this is a therapist's chair, you learn so much about yourself.
For example, I LOVE color. I thrive in it. But somehow, I find myself posting images like these that are so...blue and subtle. I'm so drawn to them, though I never thought I would have said, "Oh, I need me a blue house." Never! This game is the opposite of Pinterest. With Pinterest, I pin everything that I love. Or elements of things that I love. This game, you have to narrow down your choice to JUST ONE. For all you indecisives out there, I feel your pain.
How would you respond to "If I were a room I'd be..."? See, it's tough! But then look through your Pinterest boards (here are my Pinterest boards if you need a prompt) and gather a few images up and focus on the one you'd be most. Because it's tough to choose just one, I post one a day.
