I Love The Earl by Caroline Linden

Posted on the 05 October 2011 by Readingromances

No gentleman in London is more in need of a wealthy bride than Rhys Corwen, Earl of Dowling. He contrives an introduction to Margaret because of her dowry, but she swiftly sets him right: no fortune hunter will win her heart or her hand. Far from put off, Rhys is intrigued. Interested. Entranced. And soon the only thing he needs more than Margaret’s fortune…is her love.

Mild Spoilers Ahead!

My Thoughts:

I felt like the beginning of the book has a lot of description and it took some time to get to know our hero. I understand why the writer decided to invest in such a long presentation (considering this is a novella) since I Love The Earl is the prequel for The Truth About The Duke. The “seduction” was very fun and they main couple are great together! What I liked the most about this book was the dialog and the good set of supporting characters. All the characters sound very real and this story certainly has a great humor to it. However, I the sex scene didn’t convince me and the declarations of love didn’t sound so true at first. I had to be convinced about it!

This is a taste for what’s coming next! It really left me wondering about what will happen to the Duke…
