I was original planned to visit South Korea this Autumn, but things go way ahead of schedule and found myself packing my backpack heading to Seoul. This post is a prelude to my 1 week of adventure.
Before this trip begun, I have asked several friends of how they rate Seoul and told me its just like a little lesser version of Tokyo and or Japan. Once, I have read a Facebook post of a friend saying, she liked Seoul but only if she has not fallen in love with Japan first! Now, Imagine me, trying to decide whether to booked a flight or stay in the Philippines instead!
So, what made me decide to finally take my backpack and travel almost 2000 air miles? One, sense of adventure. Second, to defunct the feedback and third, to meet a friend for the first time in five years!!
Sense of Adventure. I am pretty much excited as to what South Korea would offer me, even though, I have low expectations as to what a week of vacation lay for me. Incheon International airport is by far my favorite airport, not that I have been to most airports myself. Shops, entertainment (live!), restaurants, culture, garden and even charging station is just everywhere. Since I have to wait for my friend’s arrival also at the airport, my 5 hours inside was not wasted with all this perks designed for tourist myself.
Defunct the feedback. Well, what can I say? I LOVE Seoul!! The even stepping out of the arrival in the Philippines and back at my old self with familiar places, familiar scent of my bed and familiar faces, I still have vacation jitters and right off the bat wanting to go back immediately!!
Meeting Elz. After 5 years, we finally meet! Why it took as too long to finally meet? A friendship that started when I was still a student in Japan. Elz, Angel and I meet in what we call “our multi-colored world”!
I found myself inside an online community of chatters where I meet this two amazing ladies, a fellow Filipina. Angel and I first meet since she and I where in Japan, I came to visit her and her 2 amazing kids in Nagano, while Elz is in the Philippines. After I came back to the Philippines, I don’t know but Elz and I have not meet yet though we are in Manila until she left the country to study abroad. Isn’t it ironic that after all these years, we finally meet in an unlikely place? Keeping the sense of adventure I guess! Guess its how things work for us! It makes the meeting more memorable!
