I Built Everything and Launched Nothing for Months

Posted on the 14 October 2026 by Steveonline @steve_online

Last Friday night I handed two signed copies of my book to two friends from the local music shop.

They’d asked about it. Then they saw it on Instagram. So I brought them each one.

We all went out together to see a show. A guy who’s a customer at the same shop.

Somewhere on the drive to the venue, it hit me.

That book had been sitting in a box for MONTHS.

Written. Typeset. Printed. Proof copies in my hands since the summer.

And it wasn’t just the book.

The community was built. The courses were loaded. Email sequences written and wired. A whole software product scoring websites, production-ready.

Nobody could get to any of it.

I’m the guy who tells business owners to stop renting and start owning. I wrote a book called The F*ck It Switch. There’s a free 8-day challenge built around the exact moment you stop overthinking and move. I even recorded an episode called Stop Building in Secret.

And I sat on my hands.

Why does finished work just sit there?

Here’s my honest version.

I hated my email platform. Hated logging into it. Every time I sat down to finish the last piece, there it was.

So I did the thing I watch clients do every week.

I found the one part I couldn’t stand and let it veto EVERYTHING else.

I obsessed over the bad. Didn’t say f*ck it. Didn’t just go.

That’s launch paralysis for most people I work with. The work is done. One piece they hate becomes the reason the whole thing stays in the garage.

Course at 90%? Book in a drawer? Funnel that’s “almost ready”?

I’d bet the missing 10% is one thing you can’t stand doing.

What actually got me to launch

It was those two guys at the show.

Regular people. Running things, working hard, and they wanted what I made.

There are a LOT of people out there I can help. Some of them aren’t sitting on a marketing budget. Some are watching every dollar.

So I rebuilt the model around them.

Unshakable AF is free to join. The rooms, the F*ck It Switch challenge, me answering questions. Members get every course, a monthly teardown of their homepage or offer, and answers from me inside 48 hours for $39 a month.

Lower than I was planning to charge. On purpose.

Last night I flipped it on.

As I write this we’re less than a day into being public. Too early for numbers. I’ll share them when they mean something.

What I can tell you is it feels like setting something heavy down.

How do you launch something that’s already finished?

One question.

What’s the ONE piece you keep circling?

Not the list. The one.

Then ask whether it actually blocks the launch, or whether it just annoys you.

Mine just annoyed me. I’m moving off that email platform this week, and nobody on the other side of the door ever knew it was a problem.

Three proof copies left in the box. They’re not staying there.
