Guess who appeared in a gun control political ad (see 05 and 43 second marks)?
Now guess who has made a video to promote her tour that is filled with guns and violence?
Beyoncé and Jay Z proved to be showstoppers once again with the release of “Run.”
The Melina Matsoukas-directed short film, which debuted Sunday, sets the stage for what audiences can expect from the celeb couple’s upcoming On the Run Tour.
In true Bey and Jay fashion, the nearly 4-minute clip includes a star-studded lineup with the likes of Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Blake Lively, Jake Gyllenhaal, Emmy Rossum, Rashida Jones and her sister Kidada, and “Scandal’s” Guillermo Diaz.
The modern day Bonnie and Clyde tote guns, rob banks and run from the law while professing their undying love for one another.
While Penn acts as a mentor calming the wild antics of Jay Z, the outlaw, Cheadle and the hip-hop star conduct business together, but aren’t friends.
“I remember this one time when you told me that when the s–t gets bigger than the cat, get rid of the cat,” Hov says to Penn as they meet in a dark strip club. “I didn’t know what the f–k you were talking about, until right now.”
“Don’t get caught,” the 53-year-old “Gangster Squad” actor advises.
In another clip, the tension can easily be felt as Jay and Cheadle split the profits of dirty money in a hotel room. “You nervous man?” the “Holy Grail” rapper asks.
“Do I look nervous,” Cheadle, 49, answers defensively. “Are you hustling me?” The “House of Lies” star becomes angry and makes it clear that he’s not one to be messed with.
“What’s going on is that you come in here and you’re disrespecting me,” he said. “I don’t appreciate it.” “Unless you prepared to do something, don’t ask me no questions,” Jay responds.
Blah, blah, blah. Read more about the video here. Their promo video is FILLED with gun violence. In the first 10 seconds, I noticed 7 guns. Notice at the 32 second mark there’s a bed with 5 guns, including an AR-15.
