Human Behavior

Human Behavior’s orchestral melancholy floats on a sea of experimental folk and bluegrass. Their new album “Bethphage” is written in Chapters. The tales are told through a raspy whispered lead vocal by Andres Parada, the groups core member and songwriter, pulled along by a chorus of lamenting female cooing. Sporadic noise and banjo plucking play while violins chatter and guitars strum. The album has a unique vision of Americana, bluegrass, and folk sewed together with Gothic visions and desolate landscapes to create a tapestry of sound hung in the parlor of any Edgar Allen Poe story. Trauma, pain, death, and lonliness are the characters of this forlorn story. They sit together and chat about their victims over afternoon tea. What droll simple minded folk are they to fall prey to such as them. Andres Parada knows them well and fights their hold on his sorrowful heart through song. Folktale Records released the album on both black and mint-green vinyl on February 3, 2015. Diet Pop Records made a CD available on February 25, 2015. Purchase the album on Bandcamp here:
