With so many coloured Mascara's available to buy, I have always ALWAYS been afraid to try them, because I always thought wearing coloured mascara would make me look like a 90's kid again which let's face it, is not a good look.
HOWEVER after scouring the internet, I found a few celebs rocking coloured mascara and it's actually quite wearable.
Today, I'm going to show you how to wear purple Mascara. If it's good enough for Cara Delevingne, then it's good enough for me!
Here are a few tips on how to wear it..
The trick is to keep the rest of your makeup flawless and minimalistic.
I would recommend using a good glowy foundation, such as Nars Sheer Glow or Rimmel Match Perfect Foundation. Use a good brush to work this into the skin and then add concealer to the areas where you need it. Set your foundation and make sure it stays put by using a setting powder such as Rimmel Stay Perfect transparent powder.
In terms of adding cheek color or contouring, I would advise against it. If you wanted, you could contour but again, In my opinion, I would keep the skin very simple.
Once the base is done, I would recommend using a bone color across your lid or any color that matches your skin tone. Make sure the color is a matte colour! I would also add a little bit or white to the inner corners to make your eyes pop. Of course, you can fill in your brows if you wish to.
Next up, either using a purple eyeshadow or eyeliner, line your upper lash line, flicking out slightly at the outer corners. You can tightline this in the upper waterline by using the same color.
Using a 'flesh' coloured eyeliner, put it into your lower lash line just to open up your eyes a bit more.
The mascara I would recommend is the Miss Manga purple Mascara - it's a really good mascara and is a vibrant purple without looking completely fluorescent!
Apply a few coats of the L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara and the look is pretty much finished.
Just add a lick of lightly tinted lip balm or similar and you're good to go!
