This fall, I bought two pairs of colored jeans, a burgundy pair and an olive pair. Being a jeans type of gal, introducing these colors into my wardrobe were easy wardrobe game changers because I got to keep a look I am comfortable with while adding some variety.
How to Wear Colorful Jeans
Colorful jeans aren't just for fall and winter. In fact, I love them even more in the spring when most people are craving a bit of brightness. With warm weather around the corner, I put together five different looks using colorful jeans. Check out the outfits for inspiration and shop for more styles at the end of the post.
Outfit #1
I styled this first outfit with a pair of bright blue jeans from Hudson. This is a color that needs a neutral unless you are a really colorful person. A shade like navy or black would be perfect. I decided to add this tunic from COS that added some novelty without being too over-the-top. I finished the outfit with a pair of silver ballerina flats from Sam Edelman, a blue bag from Cole Haan and silver drop earrings from Off 5th.
Outfit #2
When people think colored jeans they think colored jeans. My definition, at least, of colorful jeans is anything that isn't the classic blue denim. For the more neutral loving folks out there, I styled these sage wide leg cropped jeans. To create a richer look, I added this burgundy cropped sweater from Topshop and finished the look with a pair of brown wedge booties from Lucky Brand, a brown suede bag from Shinola Runwell and pendant from Madewell.

Personally, I don't mind the denim on denim look of wearing classic blue denim jeans with a chambray shirt just as long as the colors of the chambray and denim shade aren't exact. For some people, this doesn't work and it's just a little too "Chuck Norris" for them. Fair enough.
A pair of colorful jeans can be helpful in these situations, like how I styled the look above using a pair of red jeans from Prosperity Denim and a chambray shirt from Madewell. I finished the outfit with a pair of taupe flats from TOMS, a leopard handbag from Wolf & Badger and pe ndant necklace from Banana Republic.

Next, yellow jeans. Yellow isn't typically a favorite color, but many agree it is a versatile color. How someone feels about wearing yellow on the bottom is another story entirely, but that has just as much to do with fit as it does color.
I styled these yellow jeans from Hudson with a navy and white striped t-shirt from Boden with a polka dot cardigan from 1901. For a chic, casual look, I finished the outfit with navy espadrilles, cloud colored bag from Rylee and novelty hoops from Something Navy.

In this last look, I styled an outfit with a pair of burgundy jeans, a pants color that is a favorite among many. To lighten up the look, I added this subtle pink drapey popover from J. Crew. I layered a charcoal grey cardigan from Wit & Wisdom over it and finished the look with my favorite Frye slip-on sneakers in lilac and a grey handbag from Botkier.
