It’s not just brown that is making a comeback, all shades of brown are, including chestnut, which is a medium, reddish shade of brown. Being a mid-range color, it’s also quite versatile. Chestnut works tonally with other shades of brown while also working beautifully with black, navy and gray.

Outfit #1
In this outfit, I am using chestnut brown tonally. I styled this Joie sweater with a pair of caramel leather pants from Rag & Bone. I added this olive coat and finished the look with chestnut-colored booties from Vince Camuto, mushroom colored bag from Demellier, and camel leather gloves.
Outfit #2
In this look, I styled these chestnut boots from Vince Camuto, bag from Shinola, and coated skinny jeans from Frame with a gray sweater from The Kooples and plaid coat that has chestnut in it. I finished the outfit with a packable cloche hat from Helen Kaminski, and a gray scarf from Mulberry.
Outfit #3
In this look, I am working tonally with a pop of color added in. I styled this chestnut brown dress from Hobbs with a camel coat from Mackage, added this printed scarf from Rumiso and finished the look with aqua green leather gloves, fir green pumps, and camel bag from Jill Sander.
Outfit #4
In this outfit, I paired chestnut brown with navy. The plaid skirt from Staud allows you to embrace the color in a small way. Plus, it keeps it away from the face. If you want to bring more color into the outfit, pair it with a chestnut top. I did this with the top from Vince. I added a navy jacket to the look and a pair of chestnut boots from Aquatalia. To finished the outfit, I added a chestnut necklace from Knotty and a navy bag from Nordstrom.
Outfit #5
In this last look, I paired chestnut brown with color. It was the plaid scarf from Banana Republic that really tied the look together. I styled this cardigan from Eileen Fisher with a teal top and gray pants from Halogen. Adding burgundy as a pop shade, I styled the look with a burgundy beret and handbag from Rebecca Minkoff. I finished the look with chestnut booties from Stuart Weitzman.
