Since writing my post about my, client Mrs. Streamlined, and sharing her capsule, I have become obsessed with plaid blazers. She’s not the first client to buy this trendy style. You may remember my post about Mrs. Refined’s purchase of several plaid blazers and how she styled them.
How to Wear a Plaid Blazer
If you have jumped aboard the plaid blazer train too, check out how I styled a few in today’s post. And don’t forget to check out more plaid blazer styles at the end.
Outfit #1
I will own a Smythe blazer at some point. I love them. In this first look, I styled a plaid version of their classic Duchess blazer casually. I added this grey-olive cashmere v-neck sweater, a pair of skinny jeans from Rag & Bone, and finished the look with a delicate initial pendant, gray handbag from ALLSAINTS, and burgundy booties from Vince Camuto.
Outfit #2
When I envision wearing a plaid blazer, I see myself wearing it more casually with jeans or pants. While I don’t have a reason to style a plaid blazer with a dress for work, it is a great option for those looking to update the looks of their basic work dresses.
I styled this blazer from Rag & Bone with a cadet blue sheath from BOSS Hugo Boss, blush pink block heel pumps from Marc Fisher, a navy tote from Rebecca Minkoff, and simple hoop earrings.
Outfit #3
A plaid blazer doesn’t just have a notch collar, this fringe tweed jacket from Veronica Beard can be styled in edgy ways while also being perfect for work. With this jacket, I added this soft pink Vince top and navy faux leather leggings from Lyssé, navy booties, chain necklace from Karine Sultan, and burgundy crossbody bag.
Outfit #4
In this classic American look, I use this blazer from Rag & Bone. Using the orange windowpane, I added this orange sweater from Everlane and layered it over a classic white button-down shirt from Vince. I finished the outfit with a pair of cognac boots from Treasure & Bond and a Burberry bag.
Outfit #5
I styled this casual look with a more relaxed plaid blazer from 1.STATE that I styled with straight-leg jeans from Everlane. I added this v-neck t-shirt from Madewell and finished the look with grey slip-on sneakers, a black backpack from Vince Camuto and a black scarf from Free People.
