The Material of the Mask Matters
In terms of skin health, cotton and the preferable washable mask is the best fit. Cotton masks allow air to ventilate the skin, keeping it cooler and less sweaty. It also helps prevent the moisture build-up in the area which is covered under the mask and prevents a number of skin problems like rashes or skin irritation.Minimalistic Makeup
Try to go with minimum makeups beneath the mask, or if at all, prefer a makeup that is oil-free. Do moisturize your skin well too. Remember, mask+heavy-makeup will tend to clog your skin pores and make you get breakouts, so avoid or minimize it as much as possible. Also, most importantly, use non-comedogenic products which wouldn’t clog your pores. Cleanse Well Before and After Putting the Mask
Make sure you cleanse your face thoroughly before as well as after wearing the mask. This prevents the oil in the skin from getting in contact with the mask and thereby causing acne. Avoid using strong face soaps or exfoliates. Use a gentle skin cleanser then gently pat your skin dry with a clean towel.Keep the Mask Clean
This is one of the most crucial things if you are using a reusable mask. Make sure you wash your mask on a regular basis and thereafter keeping it clean. If the mask itself is unclean, bacteria will thrive on it and thereafter giving you a number of skin issues.
Face Wash with Salicylic Acid
In case you have oily and acne-prone skin or even you have active acne, do use a face wash that has salicylic acid content in it. This will help to decongest and deep clean the pores to avoid blockages which can result in unwanted breakouts.Keep Your Mask Loose
I am not asking you to completely leave it loose or open, but don’t also keep it too choked up. Let it loose to the extent that your skin can breathe. This helps prevent sweat and also prevents the skin from redness or rashes. Now that wearing a mask is a staple thing, try the above-mentioned ways to keep your skin healthy and problem-free even with the mask on!
