Time of Day
This could essentially be the most important item on the check list. If you plan a play date around nap time you are asking for trouble. Make sure you ask everyone when their children nap so that you can plan accordingly. No one likes a cranky baby yet alone multiple cranky babies.
Activities
When deciding what activities to do for a play date, make it simple. Remember toddlers don’t need much to be entertained. Seriously, you could hand them all a roll of toilet paper and they would be stoked. I always try to aim for outdoor activities when its not summer here(remember we are in Arizona!) so that the kiddos can be as loud as they want and get a dose of vitamin D.
Snacks
Kids are hungry all of the time and if they’re not then they just finished stuffing themselves. Kids are always going to want a snack where ever they go so make sure you plan to bring some. Every week we have play dates and this past week was my turn to host with snacks. Since the weather was nice but on the hotter side still I opted to do an indoor playdate with chips, gummies, cheese sticks, and popsicles. Yes, they’re messy but thanks to WaterWipes it was a breeze cleaning up.Clean Up
As you may have read in my previous post about WaterWipes, they are chemical free baby wipes made with only Irish water and grapefruit seed extract. They are literally a water filled wipe but don’t doubt its power! These baby wipes are super durable and clean up messes so much easier than regular wipes. Plus its a safer natural option for your littles! So once our kiddos were covered head to toe in cheese popsicle and popsicle juice, I gifted a sample pack of wipes to all of the parents to try out. No one had ever heard of the wipes so they were skeptical that they would work. I kid you not, every single parent was astounded and wanted to know more about them. I gave them the low down on the wipes and let them know where they could pick up some of their own.
So between snack time and the endlessly cleaning up of toys just remember you always have the option of a toddler play date. Let the kids eat snacks, get messy, and then wipe them all clean with WaterWipes. Your toddler play dates will be a piece of cake.
