How to Wear Polka Dots
Outfit #1
Like stripes, polka dots can be treated like solid colors when they are grounded in black, ivory or white. This means they can add fun while being versatile. Case in point, this navy and white pencil skirt from J. Crew. You can treat it like a basic navy pencil skirt and look way more upbeat.
I styled the skirt with an emerald green top from Boden, a navy blazer from Akris Punto, navy kitten heel pumps from Sam Edelman and finished the outfit with a navy tote from Reiss and disc drop earrings from Gorjana.

Polka dots don't have to be bold and optic. In this outfit, I took a softer approach using these wide-leg cropped pants from Madewell and styled them with a w hite tie-front blouse from DL 1961. I finished the look with a pair of cognac sandals from Camper, a y ellow handbag from Ted Baker and wood beaded necklace from Akola.

In this next look, polka dots add some fun to a basic chambray shirt. Again, like the other looks, I styled the shirt as a solid and not only added color, I paired them with prints using these slip-on sneakers from Keds. I styled the shirt with white jeans from AG, a MICHAEL Michael Kors bag in teal and bright orange scarf.

Polka dots aren't just for fun or casual, they can also be worn to work if the silhouette is sophisticated enough. Here, I did them at the luxury level using this Max Mara dress that I styled with red pumps from Jimmy Choo, grey handbag from Salvatore Ferragamo and grey earrings from Coomi Silver.
