Stealing bases is truly an art form and just like any artist, a base stealer is going to develop their own style. This is why coaches should be reluctant to force every base stealer to take leads and get jumps the same way. Ideally, players should learn as many options as possible and eventually pick one or blend a couple together to make it their own.
