You guys. I have recently started using this fantastic app called Poshmark. Ever heard of it? Here’s how it works:
1. Clean out your closet. If you need extra motivation, start by reading The Joy of Less or 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess. They will inspire you to declutter like mad.
2. List the items you’d like to sell. It takes approximately 30 seconds to list an item; take a picture (in the app!), add the details, set a price, and voila!
3. Share the items with your followers on Poshmark, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Promote them in a Posh Party for extra exposure.
4. Once you sell an item (hooray!), package it up in a priority mail box (free at the post office), slap a pre-paid shipping label on it (buyer pays for shipping, you can print from your e-mail), and drop it off at the post office or schedule a pickup at your house. Priority mail is pretty convenient because you can order boxes to be delivered to your house (for free!) and schedule pickups for free.
That’s it! You can get rid of clutter in your closet, make some money, and even use some of THAT money to make new purchases on Poshmark if you want to. I spent one Saturday afternoon cleaning out my closet and I’ve made over $160 so far. Score!
You can shop my closet here and sign up for Poshmark here.
p.s. Everything I don’t sell by Sunday is coming with me to the clothing swap! If you live in/around Sacramento, I’d love to see you there!
p.s.s. I have two referral credits left. The first two people to sign up for Poshmark can get a $5 credit with code HUGHI.
