Eye makeup is never complete without applying mascara. It provides a dramatic effect to your eyes and makes you look stunning. But removing the mascara from your lashes can be a hard task, especially if the mascara you have applied is waterproof. Waterproof mascara stays on your eyelashes throughput the day. Take cotton pad or tissue paper and put a few drops of your favorite oil on it. You may also pour a few drops of waterproof eye makeup remover on it instead of the oil. Now you have to place this cotton underneath your lashes for 30 to 40 seconds and allow your lashes to get fully soaked. This helps in dissolving the mascara. This makes it easy to remove the mascara. After soaking your eyelashes, you have to slide the tissue paper over the length of your lashes gently and clean the mascara. Once you have removed the mascara from your lashes, you can wash your face with a gentle cleanser. Then you can follow your regular skin care regime.

Method 2:
Another way to remove waterproof mascara from your lashes is to use s Q-tip and sponge. In this method, you have to place the sponge just underneath your lashes. Now dip the Q-tip in to the oil or the makeup remover and then rub it over your lashes. Keep on rubbing gently till the mascara is wiped off from your lashes. This is an easy technique and it helps in cleaning each eyelash smoothly, without any difficulty.

Using cold cream:
Cold cream, like Pond’s cold cream, can help you remove the stubborn mascara. All you have to do is to apply the cold cream on your eyelashes with your fingers or a cotton ball. Wait for a few minutes and then you can wipe off the loosened mascara from your lashes with a clean tissue paper or a clean cotton ball. Try not to use cold creams that contain petroleum jelly, as it can cause irritation to your eyes. Cold cream is also a good moisturizer. So it helps in keeping your eyelashes and the skin around your eyes healthy and well hydrated.
Using baby shampoo:
You can use all types of shampoos for removing makeup. But when you have to remove waterproof mascara from your eyelashes, baby shampoo is the best choice, as it is mild and gentle. A good quality baby shampoo will not cause you any irritation on your eyes. It is free from fragrances and added colours. Just take a little amount of the baby shampoo and apply it on your eyelashes with a cotton ball. Now you have to rub your lashes gently with the cotton ball for a minute and then wash off the mascara from your lashes. Keep your eye closed as you apply the shampoo and mascara. This will avoid your eyes from coming into contact with the shampoo.
Using coconut oil:
Coconut oil acts as a natural makeup remover. It is very effective for getting rid of the waterproof mascara from your eyelashes. Take some coconut oil on your thumb and the index finger and then rub your eyelashes between your thumb and the index finger. Continue rubbing till your lashes are soaked fully in coconut oil. You may also soak a cotton ball in coconut oil and apply it on your lashes to remove the mascara. The oil will penetrate into the waterproof mascara layer within a short time and turns the mascara loose. As a result, it sheds off from your lashes. Now wipe off the loosened mascara from your lashes with a clean cotton ball or a tissue. Make sure that you wipe off all traces of the mascara from your lashes.
Coconut oil is also beneficial for giving shine and brightness to your eyelashes and for moisturizing the skin.
Using a mixture of oils:
You can make your own homemade makeup remover by mixing water, hazel oil and jojoba or almond oil. Take 2 tablespoons of hazel oil and mix it with 2 teaspoons of almond/jojoba oil and 2 teaspoons of water. Your makeup remover solution is ready for use. This solution is very soothing for your eyes and does not cause any irritation to your eyes. You can store this solution at room temperature for about 180 days without ant fear of damaging it.
Soak a cotton ball in this solution and apply it on your lashes to remove the waterproof mascara. Wait for a while and then wipe off the mascara from your lashes with a clean cotton ball or a tissue.
