Finding out which cosmetics are best can be difficult. There’s so much to choose from!

You can always check out sites like this and even makeupalley. You can also grab the phone and make a quick call to… Mommy-pedia. You know she has a remedy that’ll withstand the test of time.  But most often, the answer is already under your nose.

Here are few ways to remove makeup with stuff you already have.

Remove your makeup using…

  • Vaseline – This ancient beauty staple is great for many, many things. I don’t recommend this for people with oily skin or acne prone skin, but vaseline makes makeup removal a breeze. Apply generously. Then use a kleenex to remove it all. Keep repeating until your kleenex is completely clean.
  • Coconut Oil – It’s the wonder oil for many reasons. Add to the list makeup remover. Unlike Vaseline,  I recommend coconut oil for all skin types. Use the same process. Apply liberally. Then use tissue or a wash cloth to remove unwanted makeup.
  • Thick Cleansers and Cold Creams – Products like Ponds and Noxzema make ultra thick cold creams that are great for removing built on makeup. You usually have some of these lying around your home so why use it for a quick and easy makeup eraser. The same applies here; apply liberally and wipe off the excess.
  • Plain ‘ol Makeup Remover – you can always invest in traditional makeup removers. There are so many on the market to choose from. Just make sure it’s hypo-allergic and non-clogging. Noteworthy makeup removers include Clinique Take the Day Off and Lancome Bi Facil.

The purpose of removing makeup is to prevent breakouts. So ensure the remover chosen is right for your skin.
