How To Keep Your New-born Germ-safe In During Winters?

Posted on the 12 January 2022 by Prapti Chauhan

Winter brings along with it flu and other viral infections, which can affect anyone with fever, cold and cough. However, if you’ve recently given birth to a new-born baby, as a new mom, you should be extra careful with your baby, during the winter season. As your little one’s immune system is still developing, and he or she might be susceptible to respiratory infection or breathing problems

So, read this article to know how to keep your new-born germ-safe, during the winter season:

Make your child wear comfortable woolens

Keeping the warmth of the room in mind. As, layering your cutie-pie with too many clothes like thick sweaters, gloves and socks, would restrict her movement and make him or her feel irritable and fussy.

Massage your little one

After all, massage helps in improving the blood circulation in the baby’s body, thus boosting his or her strength and immunity. So, massage your baby daily. And don’t forget to choose olive oil, almond oil or coconut oil as part of natural oil to massage him or her. Also make sure that the room is warm, when you are oil massaging your little one. This also helps her sleep better. In fact, the best time to oil massage your baby is before and after your baby’s bath.

Apply moisture on your baby

Your little one’s skin is already a little dry. With the cold wintry air, your baby’s skin has become drier and rougher. Therefore, choosing a moisturizer with milk cream and butter, and applying that moisturiser on your baby’s skin, would undoubtedly make the skin very soft and smooth.

Keep the baby-care products aside

Important baby care products like baby shampoos, soaps, and body washes in winters, should be best avoided. Just a simple warm bath or using a baby moisturising soap once a week would be your baby’s skin soft.

Keep heavy blankets aside

If you think your baby will be comfortable being tucked under a heavy blanket during the wintry nights, then you’re wrong. Heavy blankets would make your baby feel suffocated.

Wash your hands properly, make sure your baby doesn’t miss out on any vaccination and visit the child specialist for the well-being of your little one.
