How to Have an Epic Weekend RV Trip

By Alyssa Martinez @ItsMariaAlyssa

All around the world, couples, families, and solo travelers are driving around in their own personalized RVs. Quite simply, there's never been a better time to be an RV owner. This is particularly true when it comes to American owners. RVs are an integral part of American culture; and have become a symbol of American freedom, fun, and adventure.

One of the best parts about owning an RV is - of course - the weekend trips. Weekend RV trips are a blast, no matter what the occasion is. However, they require careful planning if you want them to be truly epic - so read this guide to find out exactly what you need to do.

But first, let's quickly talk about RV storage

When you're not driving your RV, you need somewhere to store it. After all, if you don't have a millionaire's garage or enough driveway space, you're essentially stuck with it.

Don't stress, though, as all you need to do is rent RV parking storage. You can keep your RV parked up and stored away for as long as you want. Then, when you need it for a family holiday or weekend getaway, you can head down to your storage area and pick it up. Convenient, right?

Decide which RV site you're going to stay at

When you have an idea of which part of the country, you're heading to for your weekend trip, the next step is to decide which RV site you will stay at. Unfortunately, there are hundreds of RV sites up and down the country, so you're basically spoilt for choice! To be on the safe side, you should make your booking at least a month in advance. Also, choose an RV site you can afford because prices are going up in some areas.

Wake up super early

RV weekend trips are a lot of fun - which means the time goes by really fast. Naturally, therefore, you can't afford to be waking up late! Make sure to set an early morning alarm each night before you go to bed.

Set-up Google Maps

Unless you have a photographic memory of every road in America, you're going to need to use Google Maps at some stage during your RV trip. So, make sure to set up Google Maps on your smartphone and equip it to a stand on your dashboard so you can clearly follow instructions while driving.

Don't under pack

You may decide to extend your weekend RV trip by an extra few days, so make sure to pack some extra belongings just in case.

Bring some outdoor lighting

When you're at your RV site, you'll likely want to relax outside your RV with some deck chairs and beverages. Of course, you should bring some outdoor lighting with you to complement this, such as a Bluetooth smart light to add some extra magic to the occasion.

Have lots of entertainment options available in your RV

If you're going on long RV journeys, make sure there's plenty of entertainment available for your passengers, including a working TV and WIFI connection.

Socialize with other families at RV sites

RV sites are a great way to meet cool, like-minded adventurers, so don't hesitate to invite other people over to your space to get to know each other.
