How To Get Rid Of Dandruff Naturally

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? There is less than two months for the “pujo” to come and I’m already excited as well as confused about what to shop and what to skip. Right now, I’m doing more of window shopping and waiting for the new stocks/ fresh arrivals at the stores. The stores in South city mall here in Kolkata are still full of clearance sale stocks! Anyways, since I have less than two months in hand to look our best on those three days of Durga puja, I have started a regular skin and hair care routine at home.

Today I’ll talk about my haircare routine in this post. Coming to my hair, I have mid length hair which is naturally wavy. Though my hair is dry, my scalp is very oily and hence I often face hair fall problems arising from dandruff that are not flaky but tend to stick to my scalp and are really hard to remove! Dandruff is one of the major concern for my hair and here I’ll be sharing some super easy home remedies to get rid of dandruff naturally. Have a look at them below:

1. Baking soda Shampoo

Yes! baking soda can do wonder to your hair and can remove those white bits if dandruff peeping through your hair. Baking soda is a natural exfoliant that can remove dead skin cells that accumulate in our scalp and it also have anti fungal properties that helps to keep the fungus caused by dandruff at bay. all you need is to mix 2 table spoons of baking soda in 1 cup of lukewarm water and apply generously in your hair focusing more on the scalp area. Rinse well and wash off with normal water. Repeat if necessary.

2. Tea Tree Oil

Use shampoo containing tea tree oil or simply add 2 drops of tea tree oil to coconut oil and massage on your scalp well. Leave it overnight and wash off your hair in the morning with a mild shampoo. You will find your hair dandruff free with regular usage. Tea tree oil has natural antiseptic and antifungal properties and has been in  use for years in preparing tropical medicines. It can help getting rid of dandruff and other scalp infections.

3. Fenugreek seeds

Grind 2 table spoons of fenugreek seeds or methi and soak it in a small bowl and leave it overnight. Strain the water in morning and use it to rinse your scalp well. Fenugreek seeds are rich in protein and amino acids and boosts hair growth and improves hair texture naturally.

4. Mouthwash

Shocked? You heard it right! Mouthwash is very effective in banishing dandruff. Mix 2 parts of water with 1 part of mouthwash. After regular shampoo., pour this mixture to your scalp, leave on for 20 minutes and then wash off well with water. Mouthwash is formulated in such a way that it can ward off fungus from the scalp, a common prob with people facing excessive dandruff problems.

5. Aspirin

Crush an aspirin and mix it with a mild shampoo to wash your hair. You will get rid of dandruff within a week or two!

6. Aloevera Gel

Aloevera gel has soothing properties and prevent accumulation of dead skin cells by controlling their growth rate. Aloevera is very soothing for all kinds of infections. Apply aloevera gel to your scalp and leave on for half an hour, wash off with regular shampoo after this to get rid of dandruff flakes.

7. Salt

Salt acts a great natural exfoliator and prevents accumulation of dead skin cells. Use 2 table spoons of salt and massage it in your slightly dampened scalp for 5 minutes. Wash off with regular shampoo-conditioner. salt also helps to get rid of scalp itchiness caused due to scalp infection!
