I am one of those girls who feels that a manicure can solve half of your problems on the earth. But of course, it’s not possible to go every time to a parlor and manicure is something customizable. So, why not try a manicure at home and save some good bucks. Well, before you think about the difficulty part, don’t worry it’s quite comfortable and thus easier as well.
Let’s have a look at how you can do manicure at home with this step by step guide
-
Remove your old nail paint
The first step is to be comfortable and wear comfortable clothes. Now, first and foremost old nail paint needs to be removed and thus use a nail polish remover here.
Product recommendation – Maybelline New York Color Show Nail Color Remover (Price – Rs. 90)
-
Cut and file your nails
Now, this is the second part where you need to take care of your nails. Here you need to cut your nails firstly. Cut them in any shape which you want. But make sure that shorter or medium length nails look better in person and they are easier to maintain as well. Plus, the second part is that you must clean your nails also at this point as this is a very important step.
Product recommendation – You have got a variety of nail filers at various online as well as offline stores too.
-
Push Back your cuticles
The cuticles must be soft. Thus, use oil or lotion on your cuticles. This will keep them soft for a longer time and also remove the bacteria from the cuticles as well.
Product Recommendation – Colorbar Flower Shot Nail & Cuticle Oil (Price – Rs. 350)
-
Exfoliate your hands
I would first like to dip my hands for some time in warm water. Add any body wash if you want. Just let it dip there and let it rest for a good 15-20 minutes. Post that apply the exfoliator and follows the instructions. But my suggestion is to leave the exfoliator on your hands for 10 minutes and then proceed to the next step.
Product recommendation – Tjori Citrus Hand Scrub (Price – Rs. 475)
-
De tan Pack on your hands
This is a completely optional step and thus do it only when you feel your hands are tanned. Use a de-tanning hand pack and follow the instructions mentioned in the pack itself.
Product Recommendation – O3+ D tan pack Brightening and lightening (Price – Rs. 830)

Wash your hands
And finally, wash your hands. You can wash it with lukewarm water also. Wash it thoroughly so that all those packs could be removed and your hand is all clean.
-
Moisturize your hands
Let your hands air dry and then time to apply the moisturizer. This is very important because this is the step that will tap all the moisturizer inside and thus make sure that you apply the moisturizer to lock all the moisture on your hands.
Product recommendation – The Body Shop Strawberry Hand Cream (Price – Rs. 895)

Apply the nail polish
And last but not the least, apply the nail paint. You can apply any nail paint of your choice. I prefer full-on matte nail paints and thus Colorshow ones are my favorite. You can build it up by applying a nude transparent one at the top.
Product Recommendation – Maybelline Colorshow Nail Polish (Price – Rs. 110)
And that was the simplest and easiest way to do a manicure at home and give your hands a treat time which they deserve. On a daily basis make sure that you use a moisturizer regularly. If you are the one who has an extremely dry hand, keep applying the moisturizer every 2-3 hours.
Also, best is to keep your nails free and without any colors. This would keep your nails and cuticles in good shape. Applying nail paint quite regularly might make your nails dry.
Also, on a weekly basis, you can rub a lemon peel on your hands. This will help to keep your hands tan free and also moisturized at the same time. I hope you found this step by step manicure tutorial helpful.
