Leopard never really goes away as a fashion trend. It hits peaks and valleys, but never quite disappears. This fall, leopard is peaking as a trend again, particularly leopard print shoes. If you are looking to add a small pop to your looks, leopard prints shoes are definitely a trend to check out.
Not everyone likes leopard print, I get it. Growing up in New Jersey, liking leopard print sort of runs through my blood. In fact, have jokingly said that I just can't like someone who doesn't like leopard print. Now I don't go full-on New Jersey and wear much in leopard print beyond accessories. This is how most women can realistically wear it without compromising their style or looking like they're families are involved in organized crime.
How to Add Leopard Shoes to Your Wardrobe
If you are looking to add leopard print to your wardrobe in small, chic, subtle ways that don't compromise your personal style, check out these three outfits below and some additional leopard print shoes styles at the end of the post.
Outfit #1
This outfit is an example of creating a look that is simple and understated and adding some pop through leopard print shoes. This comfortable block heel style from Cole Haan adds height without compromising comfort while also creating length when worn with these wide leg crop pants from Banana Republic and relaxed cardigan from Leith. Under the cardigan, I styled the look with a simple tank from L.K. Bennett and finished the outfit with a long tassel pendant from Gorjana and black crossbody from Madewell.
Outfit #2
I used these d'orsay flats from Sam Edelman to add a pop to this casual neutral look. You're not limited to exclusively wearing colors that are found in the leopard print. Leopard almost acts like a neutral. In the outfit above, I styled the flats with skinny jeans and an olive sweater from J. Crew and finished the outfit with a cinnamon scarf from Chan Luu, layered necklace from Nordstrom, tortoise bracelet and chain bracelet from Stella & Dot and yellow handbag from MICHAEL Michael Kors.
Outfit #3
It's not just the outfits but the shoe styles themselves that can make leopard print shoes look elegant or tacky. Leopard prints can make a huge statement and by choosing more classic styles, like this pump from Michael Kors, they can look more elegant and timeless.
In the look above, I styled the pumps with a burgundy dress from Theory, taupe tote from Tory Burch, Kendra Scott necklace and gold bracelet. Over the dress I added this Michael Kors shrug that isn't cheap. Despite the price tag, many clients have purchased it for its great fit and versatility. Certainly, if the price point is too high you can find plenty of black shrugs out there for much less.
