How This Meaning Of Life Blog is Different

By Albert Wagner @albertwagner4

Why should you read THIS blog about the Meaning Of Life?
After all there is other information on the Internet for people who want to know about the Meaning Of Life.  There are blogs, forums, question and answer sites and information about most authors.
Since there is all this data there must be a reason to read each one.
This blog attempts to look beyond just saying "The meaning of life is to give it meaning" or "The meaning of life is to be happy."  To these the author would respond with things like what gives it meaning and what makes you happy?
The Meaning Of Life Is Some say the meaning of life is to be happy or to make of life what you want it to be.
That doesn't sound like enough to this author.  It sounds like following job opportunities for physical wealth is the end goal.  This blog asserts there is more to life than your possessions and status.  There is a deep inner core humans were created with.  This blog looks at finding what is beyond what is in front of physically to open new avenues for growth.
If you acknowledge you are a created being than there is more than going through the motions of every day life.  If you are created, then why were you created?  It is important to try to get to the mind of the Creator and what else was created.  Rarely do things happen for no purpose, even if you don't know what it is.
There is meaning in people, nature and things to bring out what you are meant to be.  These all point back to you and have significance.
The meaning of life also involves what you are meant to be.  Things come along unexpectedly in life and might sway you to change your plan.  There is what you do and then there is why you do it.
It is important, also, to know where a person's thinking comes from.  A blog is about spreading ideas, so where do these ideas originate? This is the background the author of this blog employs.
1. Philosophical
The author has studied philosophy at a university, been an avid reader through the years and thinks philosophically in general.
2. Spiritual
The author is active at an Orthodox institution after a spiritual awakening, speaking to seminarians on a daily basis in an active church life.
3. Psychological
The author is an only child who spent time at an orphanage, never met his biological parents, has an anxiety disorder (with autistic tendencies), geeky and been homeless after losing everything.
This background probably is not viewed as "mainstream" by society in general.
After a person has lost everything priorities change.  Yes, money has a place, but so do other things.  After a spiritual awakening a person has had some time to think.  Yes, other people think.  However, if you are caught up in daily affairs the conclusions might be different.
For example, if you have money, but not health or someone to enjoy it with then how much is it worth?
There is an old tale about someone who found a diamond and wasn't aware it was worth $300,000.  The value was there, but the person was not aware of it.  Does that say more about the diamond or the person?  The person didn't see the value in it, even though it was there.  It is almost saying there is value around you - if you are aware of it.
This leads to the background of the author and the values stated in these posts.
Here are some core values of these blog posts that are repeated for emphasis:
1.  Money is a medium and not a spiritual anchor.
2.  What looks evil can be used for good by God
3.  A religious core is not about how "good' you appear to be, but about the status of your relationship with the Creator
4.  What you do is a different discussion than why you do it
5.  This life is about growth to prepare you for the next world
Being aware of these things can change your priorities in life and lead to fulfillment.  Spiritually, things involving a mystery are not exhausted of possibilities.
This author is not content with the common answers to the meaning of life and is seeking deeper answers.  This blog, therefore, looks beyond just saying "to be happy is the meaning of life."
This blog won't tell you meaning of life is in how many possessions you have, but in what is in you and all around you.
What does life mean to YOU?
