I recently heard someone ask another person how their words tasted. That's the only part of the conversation that I heard, but that short question stuck with me. I have a confession: I have a bad habit of not thinking before I speak. My mouth usually spits out exactly what I'm thinking before I have time to filter my thoughts. Sometimes that's a good thing, but other times not so much.
I've been blown away the last few months by the words that people have spoken toward me. I am so thankful for every single tweet, comment, email, text, etc that I've received. I full-heartedly believe that Glisten is going to succeed, mostly because I have y'all, my friends & my family backing me up. So thank you :)
I can't explain the feelings of excitement that I've had because of this encouragement. It's really caused me to step back and think about what my words are causing people to feel. Am I making people believe in themselves? Or am I making them question their dreams & ambitions?
I'm working on really tasting my words before I speak them. I want to say things that encourage people. Motivate people. Push people to be the best that they can be. What if something that I say completely changes someone's prospective? Or what if I miss an opportunity to make someone's day better because I was "too busy" to shoot them an encouraging text or tweet?
I challenge you to think before you speak today. What do your words taste like? Take the time to lift someone up!
